Booking & Payment

  • Is it possible to make a reservation without a credit card?
    • Online bookings via the official website require a credit card.
    • For telephone or written inquiries, the booking can exceptionally be guaranteed by prepayment (bank transfer).
    • Please contact us directly – we are happy to assist you.
  • Which payment methods are accepted at the hotel?
    • Cash, debit card (Maestro), and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club).
    • For corporate clients, invoicing or bank transfer is possible by prior arrangement.

Arrival & Parking

  • Does the hotel offer airport transfer? How do I get from the airport to the hotel?
    • We are happy to arrange a taxi or limousine service (external provider).
    • Travel time: approx. 20–25 minutes (depending on traffic).
    • Approximate prices (as of October 2025): about €52 from the hotel to the airport, about €56 from the airport to the hotel; night surcharge €4 (7:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.).
    • Alternative: public transport (e.g., CAT to Wien Mitte, then U3 to Herrengasse).
  • Where can I park, and how much does it cost?
    • Two partner parking garages nearby.
    • Special rate for guests: currently €34 per day (regular price approx. €52/day).
    • Details about the garage and access are provided at check-in; maximum entry height 2.10 m.

Stay

  • From what time can I check in?
    • Guaranteed check-in from 3:00 p.m.
    • Early check-in available upon request and subject to availability.
  • By what time must I check out?
    • Check-out until 11:00 a.m.
  • Is a late check-out possible?
    • On request and depending on availability on the day of departure.
    • Fee from €25 depending on the duration of the extension.
  • Can I store my luggage before check-in or after check-out?
    • Yes, free luggage storage on the day of arrival and departure in a lockable luggage room.
  • May I stay in the hotel after checking out?
    • Yes, you are welcome to stay in the lobby or at the hotel bar until your departure (open 24/7).
  • Is the hotel accessible at night?
    • Yes, reception is staffed 24 hours a day; the entrance is open around the clock.
  • Are pets allowed in the hotel?
    • Yes, please register in advance; generally one dog (up to medium size) or one cat per room.
    • Cleaning fee: €45 per pet per day.
    • Assistance dogs are of course allowed free of charge.
  • Is smoking allowed in the hotel?
    • No, this is a non-smoking hotel – smoking in rooms and indoor areas is prohibited.
    • A smoking area is available in front of the hotel entrance.

  • Do the rooms have air conditioning, and how does it work?
    • Yes, individually adjustable air conditioning during the warmer months.
    • The air conditioning automatically switches off when a window is open.
    • Operation is adapted to outdoor temperatures (environmentally certified hotel).
  • Can the windows be opened?
    • Yes; the air conditioning switches off automatically when windows are open.
  • Can the room be darkened sufficiently?
    • Yes, blackout curtains ensure good darkening.
  • Do the rooms have a safe?
    • Yes, every room has a safe (laptop size). Our team is happy to assist if needed.
  • Is there a minibar in the room?
    • Yes, stocked with soft drinks and beer; 24/7 beverages available at the lobby bar.
  • Are hot drinks available in the room?
    • Yes, complimentary coffee and tea set (kettle, tea, instant coffee, cups).
  • Do you offer allergy-friendly bedding or rooms?
    • Yes, allergy bedding upon request; rooms with parquet floors are available.
  • Can I get a different pillow or blanket?
    • Yes, various pillow options and additional or decorative blankets are available upon request.
  • Are bathrobes provided in the room?
    • Yes, bathrobes are available in every room.
  • Can I use an iron in the room?
    • Iron and ironing board will be delivered to your room upon request free of charge.
  • Is the hotel barrier-free (wheelchair accessible)?
    • Elevators and accessible entrances available; many areas are step-free.

Dining (Breakfast & Bar)

  • When is breakfast served and how much does it cost?
    • Breakfast hours: Mon–Fri 6:30–10:30 a.m.; Sat, Sun & public holidays 7:00–11:00 a.m.
    • Extensive buffet with hot/cold dishes, pastries, fruit, juices, coffee & tea.
    • Price: €25 per person/day (if not included in the room rate).
  • Does the breakfast buffet offer gluten-free, lactose-free, or vegan options?
    • Yes, corresponding products are available as standard (e.g., plant-based milk, gluten-free pastries).
    • Anything missing? Just ask – we will find a solution.
  • Is there a restaurant in the hotel for lunch or dinner?
    • No in-house à-la-carte restaurant.
    • Many excellent restaurants are within walking distance; we are happy to advise and make reservations.
    • On request, delivery from selected partner restaurants to your room.
  • Does the hotel have a bar and what are its opening hours?
    • Yes, the lobby bar is open 24/7 with a wide selection of drinks.

Service & Extras

  • How does the hotel Wi-Fi work?
    • Free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
    • Network “Tigra Hotspot” (no password required); confirm the terms of use – and you’re online.
  • Do you offer laundry service (cleaning/ironing)?
    • External cleaning service for a fee, Mon–Fri: if handed in by 8:30 a.m., returned the same day around 8:00 p.m.
    • Saturday +50% surcharge; no service on Sunday.
  • Can I print something or use a computer at the hotel?
    • Business corner in the lobby with PC and printer (free printing, e.g., boarding passes).
    • Our team will gladly assist and provide office supplies if needed.
  • Can the hotel organize tickets, tours, or transfers for me?
    • Yes, e.g., Vienna City Card, Hop-On/Hop-Off, city tours, Danube cruises, concert tickets, taxis/transfers.
  • I forgot something important at home – can the hotel help?
    • Yes, many amenity items (e.g., toothbrush, razor, sewing kit, plasters) are available free of charge at reception.
  • Can I exchange money at the hotel?
    • Foreign currency exchange is not available; please use a bank or exchange office.

    • No in-house rental; we can arrange rental bikes or provide information about Citybike stations.

    • About 10 minutes on foot – central location in the 1st district.

  • Can you recommend nearby restaurants?
    • Numerous excellent restaurants nearby (Viennese cuisine, Italian, sushi, etc.).
    • We provide personal recommendations and are happy to make table reservations.
  • Is there a supermarket nearby?
    • Several supermarkets within approx. 5 minutes on foot (e.g., Spar Gourmet, BILLA, Hofer).
  • Which public transport connections are available?
    • U3 “Herrengasse” ~3 min walk; “Stephansplatz” (U1/U3) ~10 min walk.
    • Bus lines 2A/3A and trams on the Ring (1, 71, D) and “Schottentor” (1, 2, 37, 38, 40A) within walking distance.
    • City maps and route guidance available at reception.
  • Where is the nearest Hop-On/Hop-Off bus stop?
    • State Opera (Opernring, Stop No. 1) and Burgtheater/Universitätsring ~10 min walk.

  • What is Mozart’s connection to the Boutique Hotel Das Tigra?
    • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived in the building that now houses the hotel in 1762 and 1773.
    • In 1762 he performed a concert before Empress Maria Theresa; the building was then a residence of the Fischer family.
  • Why is the hotel called “Das Tigra”?
    • The name derives from the address “Tiefer Graben”: “TI” (Tiefer) + “GRA” (Graben).
  • Why is there no 4th floor in the hotel?
    • Architectural peculiarity due to three connected historic buildings of different heights; to align levels, the number 4 was skipped.
  • Has the building always been a hotel?
    • No, originally a townhouse (16th century); converted into a hotel in the 1970s and family-run ever since (third generation).

  • Is there a workspace for business travelers?
    • Yes, business corner in the lobby (PC & printer) and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
    • Rooms equipped with desk, telephone, and ample sockets.
  • Does the hotel have conference or seminar rooms?
    • Fully equipped seminar room with daylight for up to 24 people (various seating arrangements).
    • For smaller meetings (up to approx. 6 people), the Business Suite is suitable.
    • Conference equipment: projector, screen, flipchart, Wi-Fi, moderation materials, etc.

  • What should I do if I get sick during my stay?
    • Please inform us – we can arrange a doctor (house call) or provide the nearest pharmacy information.
    • In an emergency, we will call the ambulance; pharmacies on duty and hospitals are easily reachable.
  • Does the hotel meet current safety standards?
    • Yes, all local regulations and safety standards (e.g., fire protection, emergency lighting, hygiene) are met.
